A perfect week here. Great staff, great view, terrific location.
They have it all
We came right before the the 4th and left on the 4th of July. The sites are clean, the bathrooms, the showers, the laundry room, the pool area were all clean! The sites are close together and will take some maneuvering to get into, but they ARE manageable! And even though they are squeezed in together, they have plant life surrounding each site to make you feel isolated. Bring spray for NoSeeUms as they are just as bad here as anywhere else.

This place is top notch. Our site was right on the water, by the swimming area. Quiet, peaceful, and plenty of stuff to do. The pool was great, and the staff was amazing. Will definitely return.

We have stayed at 20 different KOA's, from CA to FL and this is by far, the nicest. The entire resort was rebuilt after Hurricane Irma in 2017. Everything has been redone from the ground up and it shows. I would winter over here in a heartbeat.
Arrival - Great pre-arrival communication. Ample registration lanes on arrival. Great arrival staff, super fast process and very informative. Guided to site after check-in.
Tips - Arrive as early as possible. Interior sites are just as nice as the water-side sites; everything is very new and lush. Make sure to get your discounts on arrival.
Favorites - The onsite amenities; there's really no reason to leave to arrange for floating, paddling, snorkeling, swimming, and or fishing. The pool is fantastic with bocce, corn hole, and hammocks. The onsite bar/snackbar, the site quality, the landscaping. The cleanliness of the resort. Curbside trash pickup throughout the day. Location of the resort. We had open skies at our location for Starlink.
Negatives - No resort-centric negatives really; other than loud music on the weekend but, that ended at quiet hours. The only negatives are those associated with lack of services around Sugarloaf Key; make sure to stock up before you get here.

April 2022. Our furthest sojourn to date from Ky. Well worth the three overnights down, and three back. A wonderful base camp from which to discover and explore the Florida Keys. Easy access, centrally located, but still a bit off the beaten path. Completely new landscaping (since hurricane) looks mature, and creates a festive tropical paradise. Each site is individually landscaped. Pool easily accessible, and good size. Wet bar and grill a pleasant and welcomed surprise. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price higher than the majority of KoAs, but we’ll worth every dollar, and quite economical among other ways to stay on the keys. Looking forward to another stay someday.

The Southern Most KOA- Pricy
This is all brand new. And pricy. There is a 2 night minimum and sites start at $160/night (and go up).
They had extensive damage from hurricane Irma in 2017 and have rebuilt everything. They have only been reopen 2 years. There is still some construction ongoing.
Sites are nice. Most are tucked into the shrubberies so they have privacy.
Wide sites with Gravel drives, new style hook-ups for water, electric, wifi and cable tv.
Bathrooms and showers are very nice.
There is a “resort style” pool, (whatever that means), a private beach (not dog friendly), hot tub, boat dock & marina, a dog park, and kayak rental and they rent three-wheel bikes for kids to terrorize everyone.
They are about 27 miles from Key West.
They have a pub with “live music” till 10pm weekends. It was annoying but we found a nice little restaurant at the Geiger Key Marina, and thankfully the “music” stopped at 10!

We booked far in advance to secure a beachfront site at the Sugarloaf/Key West KOA – the Southernmost KOA – but lucky for us we’d arrived ahead of the seasonal crowd and the park was only about a third full. The KOA was well maintained by the friendly staff. They had a marina, pool and hot tub, open air pub, excellent laundry facility, and a small restaurant and office/store. Nice playground for the kids and lots of planned activities too. Boat, paddleboards, bikes, and snorkeling equipment could all be rented from the KOA.
We loved that our site fronted the shared beach/swimming area and we were able to pull in to take advantage of the view. The KOA provided beach chairs so we didn’t even need to set ours up. Site spacing was adequate, although palm trees don’t offer any privacy between sites. :)
Note: the price varies by site type and ours was probably one of the more expensive ones. The $108/night fee noted also includes taxes and the 10% KOA discount.
There is a lot to do in the area. Visit Key West, take the ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park, kayak, snorkel, bike, and more. Since the park felt nearly empty, it was very quiet and relaxing. The beachfront spots might not be so attractive if the park was full and busy.
We had 3-4 bars of 4G unboosted. Free Wifi that worked ok, but required frequent log-ins and sometimes ran slow.
