“Florida's only drive-through safari”
Florida's only drive-through safari and walk-through amusement park invites you to spend the day on safari with over 900 animals. With animal displays and encounters, animal feeding experiences, 6 rides, water sprayground, food, shopping and more, you are sure to have a memorable experience at Lion Country Safari. At the time it was the first drive-through safari park in the country and introduced a new concept to animal lovers, “The Cageless Zoo.” The opening generated enormous interest on the part of residents, visitors to South Florida, and the media. The park developed into a popular and successful attraction. Lion Country Safari was originally developed by a group of South African and British entrepreneurs who wanted to bring the experience of an African game park, then and now an expensive and time-consuming trip, to families who would otherwise not be able to experience an African safari. South Florida and Western Palm Beach County proved to be an ideal location for the park due to its year-round outdoor climate, plentiful land, a growing population and tourists who visit from all over the world.Today, Lion Country Safari is home to over 900 animals in the drive-through preserve and in the Safari World exhibit area. Among the more notable species on display at the park are lions, white rhino, chimpanzees, zebra, and giraffe.
This was a fantastic experience. We did the drive through portion and spent about 2 hours enjoying the company of the wildlife from the safety of our car. Afterwards, we took a nice stroll around the park and even fed a giraffe! Well worth the money.
nice drive thru! interesting CD to listen in a car

This place is pretty cool! You drive through a "safari" where most animals are right next to your car, no fence. The walk through portion is fun as well with petting zoo, food for purchase, and more neat animals to see up close.
Lion Country Safari is a well-kept drive-thru animal park with lions, rhinos, giraffes, etc. The park can be enjoyed at your own pace. After the car tour, we partook in the walking portion of the park complete with flamingos and baby monkeys. It was especially enjoyable to feed the giraffes.
Florida has a lot of amusement parks, zoos, and wildlife, but it only has one drive-through safari: Lion Country Safari, about 20 miles west of West Palm Beach. The safari boasts over 900 animals, feeding experiences, 6 rides, on-site dining, and more. Choose between the walking tour or the drive-through tour (or do both!).
One of the best places I like to take my kids too. We spend a few hours on the drive, go to the splash pad and walk around the park. The kids love to enjoy the day there. Can't wait to go back in December.
