The Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park, better known simply as Fort Taylor (or Fort Zach to locals) is a Florida State Park and National Historic Landmark centered on a Civil War-era fort located near the southern tip of Key West, Florida.
We explored the park in March 2018 during a trip to Key West. It's one of the only actual beaches in the area and the camping areas are amazing. This spot is the spot that makes me want to run out and Airstream and drive all the way to Fort Zach (from MO) and live there for a month!
We LOVE the beach! It reminded us of the beach in Mexico. It was gorgeous! Not too crowded and there are trees for shade. There is a fee to get in the park, but it was only like $6. Well worth it. We will be back!
