Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 27, 2020We ended up here over Labor Day weekend because we couldn't find another campground with availability along our route to Niagara Falls due to the holiday. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the campground. It is a fairly basic campground, not a "resort", but the new owners are very friendly and helpful, and are working to improve the campground. It's located in a remote but scenic area about 8 miles off the interstate, and is completely surrounded by a public golf course (we almost never saw golfers though). Most of it is wooded, though our site was in a clear area near the large and frequently-used playground. It is mostly occupied by seasonal or full-time families, however they were some of the friendliest residents we've come across in our travels (often if a campground is mostly permanent residents they ignore short-term visitors like us) and all the sites were clean and tidy. Everyone had a smile and wave as we walked our dog through the campground. They only have 30 amp power, and our site had a grey water disposal (first time we've come across that) so we only had to use their dump station on the way out for our black tank. The price was good for what we got (it was about 50%-60% of what other campgrounds were charging during the holiday weekend), and during weekdays with Passport America it would be even cheaper. No WiFi, but our AT&T and Verizon worked fine. If driving a big rig, be sure to call and ask for directions. There are some narrow hilly roads nearby and the GPS will take you on them by default. We'd gladly return if passing through the area again in the future.

It is a bit off the beaten path, but as a Passport America participant it is good for a 2 day stopover. Showers & toilets are rustic but clean. The sites have no sewer, W/E only. Some have a funky setup for gray water only, a non-threaded pvc pipe (ours was chipped broken) you shove your hose into and let fly. I had to partially close my drain valve to prevent backup/overflow. Several minutes later I saw my gray water flowing across the gravel driveway. Sites are gravel, level, and separated by grass strips. Staff is extremely friendly. Many long term residents and they are friendly as well. There is a golf course next door, but other than that there is not much to do but camp.

This is a really nice park. Easy access to interstate 86 and Jamestown. Our site was almost level, no problem getting set up. The laundry was really nice, The family who owns it are really nice. Great park for touring this part of New York.
We were coming from the north, and our GPS took us down back roads. I would stay on 62 to I86 and use the west exit.
This has nothing to do with the park. We visited the new comedy museum, which turned out to be expensive and a waste of our time. If you are under 30, may enjoy it. The Lucy and Desi museum are good.

The Top-A-Rise Campground was a HUGE surprise for us. So much so that after our one night at Passport America price (50% off regular), we stayed two more nights at FULL PRICE. That's a big splurge for us.
We rolled into our site. It backed up the playground. That’s a big deal with 2 little people on the team. Unfettered access to space to run and toys to play with AND easy to monitor from our RV - AWESOME!
This place is really a gem. It’s owned and operated by two wonderful couples. It shows how much work they put into the campground since buying it a few years ago. The value is incredible.
Definitely recommend for a stay or if you are passing through.

We had a great 2 night stay at this campground as a Passport America member. The campground is very nice. Common buildings are new including bathrooms and laundry. Nice scenery at the top of a rise! Festive for Halloween, tastefully done. We will certainly return as the people are the nicest we’ve met in our travels!
