“inside the Everglades Nat'l Park”
The Everglades National Park Shark Valley Tram Road is a 15-mile long paved loop which is closed to motorized traffic except the hourly tram tour vehicle. It joins a long list of outstanding Florida walking; hiking and biking trails; and it is especially suited for wildlife viewing. The subtle beauty of the Everglades is best enjoyed at slow speed and the wide; paved road gives bicyclists access to a variety of wildlife including migratory birds and a large population of alligators. An observation tower (with water and bathrooms) is located at the half-way point and provides incredible views of the vast River of Grass. Drinks; snacks and rental bicycles are available at the visitors center. The visitors center hours are 9:15am - 5:15pm.
