“hike to the falls!”
Family-friendly, easy hike from Glacier Gorge Junction trailhead. Beautiful falls and views of the surrounding peaks. One of the most popular hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, it can be quite crowded on peak tourist days. The hike from Glacier Gorge Junction to Alberta Falls is probably the most popular trail in Rocky Mountain National Park, in part because it's short and easy, and in part because it is one of the most scenic hikes in the park.
So much fun!!!!! I wouldn't describe the hike as short and easy (says a fat and severely out of shape person with a bad hip and knee) , but even for me it was easily DOABLE. A couple of miles round trip, I think, not very steep, and every little adventure along the way makes all the huffing and puffing worth it. Grazing deers, fun little chipmunks that pop out at you, the delicious crisp clean air, and the incredible view once you get to the top. GO FOR IT! Give a try even if you think you can't!!
Nothing more invigorating than putting your face close to the roaring water. A wonderful place to linger, bring a snack and enjoy the view.
