Encampment River Campground

This is a decent little campground with most sites along the river. No water, 1 bathroom (vault) at far end of campground. Nice hiking trails off campground.

I was lucky enough to snag the last open site and it was a good one. Very level and shaded. Enough service for texts and calls. I can hear the river running right behind my campsite. And enough sun to charge my batteries.

Encampment River Campground is located at 7,200 feet in the Sierra Madre Mountains along the Encampment River. This area was once the source of railroad ties and mine timbers and you can still see remnants of the logging operations along the river. Outdoor recreation activities include rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, backpacking, biking, hunting, and wildlife viewing.
