“We have welcomed guests from over 40 states and territories and nine foreign countries.”
Unlike many homes of bygone eras, The Queen Marie has always been a single family dwelling and has never undergone major renovation. J.J. Shaw, the local lumber and hardware baron, built this beautiful Victorian home in 1890. His home was used as a showplace with its remarkable woodwork and the finest hardware available in the Victorian era. The spectacular open staircase with its meticulously carved oak, simply shows the reason she is called The Queen Marie. The brass laced fireplace is stil intact and brings warmth and beauty to the living room, especially during the cold nights. The serenity and Victorian beauty of The Queen Marie wil enchant you and leave you with fond memories of your comfortable stay.
