Wagon Trail is the Northern most campground on Wisconsin's beautiful Door County Peninsula! It is extremely well maintained in a rustic setting.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 18, 2019I found this campground from a fellow campers post on IG. From seeing the pic of a wooded secluded campsite from an RV park (which I find to be rare) I knew we had to add this to our camping list.
The campground is located at the north eastern tip of Door County in Wisconsin. Door county is known for it's quant little towns and country feel. The location is a little out of the way from some of of the larger "must see" towns, however it's a rather short drive to get to everything.
The campground is very large and most sites are spacious. We stayed at site #502, a premium site which was worth the money. Our site was HUGE, plenty of room for our MH, car and lots of space to spread out. The site was on an curve so there was no one directly next to us (a plus in my book).
Premium sites offer 50 amp hookups with water. No direct sewer connection but they did offer a dump service.
The grounds of the campground are beautifully landscaped. The staff super nice. The campground is very dog friendly. You can bring your dogs in to the store for a treat. Ours took advantage of this multiple times a day! They were very spoiled from all the love they were receiving.
I loved this campground for the privacy of the sites and how large each was.

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could go to the evening star program at Newport State Park.
This park is expensive, but it was one of the friendliest and by far the cleanest of any park we have ever stayed in. The restrooms were always well supplied with TP and clean. They had warm private showers (free) The staff was helpful. The sites offered privacy and many set back amongst the trees.
We kayaked up the Mink Creek Estuary, and would have kayaked Europe Lake if we had time.
We were in a 25 ft Class C Navion, towing a Jeep.

Wagon Trail Campground in Ellison Bay Wisconsin is absolutely beautiful!!
This campground is super clean and meticulously maintained. The sites are amazing and secluded.
The staff/hosts are wonderful and friendly! They gave us a bunch of ideas on things to do and recommendations for places to go.
We were on site 409, FHU. $59 per night.
We did not have any Tmobile service or Dish. There is wifi up at the office. Great roads and trails to walk/bike on.
We also took the car ferry over to Washington Island. It was $55 for the two of us and the truck. I believe it was a few bucks extra for our truck because it is a dually. You can even ferry over your camper. We saw trailers and class A's going over. There is a campground on the island. It is equestrian friendly...the island and the campground on the island. They had equestrian sites with corrals.
We will definitely be going back to Wagon Trail!! We are even thinking about taking the camper over to Washington Island and camp.

Stayed at site 433, which was full hookups over Memorial Day Weekend. The staff was GREAT and did a wonderful job of operating smoothly with no contact due to COVID.
Every site is pretty level and well maintained. A lot of trees around each site.
Firewood was reasonably priced ($5.50 a bundle). Very quiet campground.
Unfortunately a lot of business were still closed while we were there, so we didn't get to truly explore the town. We did, however, bike Sunset Trail in Peninsula State Park and kayak in Rowleys Bay. Peninsula State Park is only about 12 miles away and the launch for the bay was about 1/4 mile from the campground.
Will 100% come back to stay at Wagon Trail again in the near future!
Only "downside" is the cell service would be really good (full Verizon LTE bars), then all of a sudden no service.

This is the cleanest, quietest and more well organized campground you will ever stay at. Honestly, the owner must be a bit obsessive. For example, the level crushed gravel you park on is raked. Yes. And if you need to take them some more, they let you borrow the rake. Example number two, they metal detector the impeccable yellow sand in the kiddie playground to make sure there is no dangerous buried trash. The gardens are gorgeous. Thick wooed between each campsite. Tasteful camp shop with sweet merchandise. Very helpful staff. And Door county hiking and beaches are amazing. It doesn’t get better than this.

What if I told you that you could have a quiet trip to Door County during their peak season? From check in to check out, the process was seamless and spotless. Very friendly camp staff, exceptionally new and clean bathrooms, and extremely level sites for campers. I would say the prime locations are the even number 500's but there are truly no bad spots. Cell service is next to none, but it's good to come and disconnect. Very close to Rowleys Bay Resort, which has a "bar" and a cute bakery. Loved this quiet side of the peninsula, where the stars are bright and the noise is low.

I pay attention to reviews when looking for a campsite. WagonTrails checked all the boxes.
Amazing, quiet, big secluded sites. You will think your in a State Park.
Staff was excellent, campstore has everything you need.
Site was level, and easy to back into.
I have to say, Wisconsin has some amazing campgrounds. From State Parks to privately owned.

This is our second stay at this great campground. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable, the sites are spacious and well groomed, and the trees provide a sense that you’re really in the forest (which you are). Many fun things to see and go, including Grandma’s Swedish Bakery a short hike away. We will definitely be back!
