“Camping & RV in WA”
Set on the Yakima River, this KOA is a great base camp for fishing or rafting. You're well-situated for touring the Clymer Museum of Art searching for the Ellensburg blue agate, enjoying a concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre, hiking the John Wayne Trail, stargazing on Table Mountain or visiting Roslyn, where Northern Exposure was filmed. Central Washington University's campus is also located in town. Visit during Jazz in the Valley the last weekend in July and the Ellensburg Rodeo on Labor Day weekend. This KOA features wooded sites, some right on the river. Check into the cozy Deluxe Cabins (air-conditioned) or settle into a prime spot and relax. Wireless Internet is conveniently located throughout the park. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 70 feet. Your hosts: Gary & Gail McConnell.
DO NOT STAY HERE!! I’m giving one star out of sympathy for the staff member who had to deal with irate campers such as myself.
At 1:00 am the power went out to the row of campsites that we were in. My husband uses a sleep machine and without electricity he could not sleep.
As myself and other campers stated ( repeatedly), we paid for a site WITH electricity.
The solution we were given was to move to another spot. No good because we booked it to stay one night.
The staff member gave us 2 managers numbers (I believe these were the owners), and there was no answer at either number. I called the KOA corporate office and although they agreed with me, there was nothing they could do other than sending an email asking them to call us. No dice; they haven’t called or even attempted to make this right.
Again, do NOT stay at this campground if you wish to get what you paid for.
A nice and well-maintained campground with some wooded areas. The site is beside a river, however, there is no direct access to it but there's a nice pool for anyone looking to stretch some muscles. It can only accommodate vehicles that are no larger than 40 feet, but amenities are great typical of KOA campgrounds.
Clean, nice park, great amenities, good helpful staff, and right on the Yakima River with easy access for anglers.
