“serving Elizabeth City since 1997”
The Cypress Creek Grill was started by Texas native Bobby Plough and his wife Jane. They moved to Elizabeth City in the fall of 1993 with the goal of settling into a smaller town and opening a business. Bobby brought with him many years of restaurant experience "It's all I've ever done", he likes to tell people rather than how many years he has worked in restaurants. He is now in his fifties, you do the math. Together they opened Cypress Creek Grill in 1997 at it's first location on Poindexter Street in downtown Elizabeth City. After 5 and a half years they moved to their current waterfront location. The new location would give way to an expanded dining roon, a sit down bar, as well as a small banquet & meeting room. The view of the river can be seen from every seat in the house, including the bar, while you enjoy dining in the light and airy atmosphere surrounded by prints of herons, egrets, and other water fowl.
