Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 24, 2021Unfortunately this was in need of serious updating. Old bathrooms and poorly marked sites without picnic tables unless you hauled one down the mountain yourself. The grass around the property was not mowed so we had ticks immediately and very little service on site, no ice, nothing much to speak of. Pick the state park down the street instead.
Close to lots of trails. Friendly atmosphere.

The most Unfriendly of the friendliest campground. It all depends on who you are. We arrived and they changed our site. When we pulled up to our new site, we were greeted by people from the surrounding campsites telling us we were not allowed to camp there because it was someone else’s site. They even stood in the middle of the site so we could not park. One group went on their golf cart to find the owner to see if we really were told to park there. When they came back it was like a gang leader. They told everyone we were ok to park. The same thing happened to another family they were parked and set-up only to be told they had to move two sites over, because someone else wanted that site. He confirmed the owners do this all the time. They will move people or give them different accommodation to make sure others in their gang get what they want. The entire trip we were glared at, no one smiled or said hello, we would wave but nothing, but dirty looks were given. BUT if you were part of their little gang, it was one big party. Large groups would stand in the middle of the road talking and not move if they did not know the truck. Large groups around campfires at night with very loud music. Someone would cut through our site with their horse and leave horse poop right outside our 5th wheel. So, we had to look before stepping outside. The campers are awful, and the owners are part of the gang. It is a cute horse camp but not worth being bullied.
Probably a good spot for horse people...and we didnt mind the few issues we encountered. The trailer (not a cabin as advertised) was a 3 on a scale of 5 mostly because of cleanliness. Bathrooms & kitchens & livingrooms were good...bedroom had been swarmed by ladybugs and they had swept the day before. Little things like dust hanging off picture frames and dead bugs on carpet. The people who ran the campground were super helpful and friendly 5/5. Felt secure and safe there 5/5...but really would still give an overall 3 because of cabin. Solid stay...better if kept up a bit more.
