Wharton Center, Michigan’s largest presenter of performing arts, is located on the campus of Michigan State University and offers more than fifty attractions each year. Whether you enjoy the best in Broadway shows, dance, classic music, or jazz, it can be found at Wharton Center. Open captioning is a service at Wharton Center for people with hearing loss that uses a text display to provide a simultaneous translation of dialogue and lyrics during a live performance, as well as a description of sound effects on stage. The service is open to everyone for viewing in a designated seating area without any special equipment needed by the audience member.
The Wharton Center is a wonderful place to see a show. There truly isn’t a bad seat in either theater, Cobb Hall or the Pasant Theater. Tickets are usually reasonably priced, you can buy online or at the box office. MSU students can get a discount for most shows. I’ve seen many great shows like The Lion King, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Waitress, Pippin, Blue Man Group, The Phantom of the Opera, Harry Connick Jr., Kristin Chenowith, all without leaving East Lansing!
