The picture that you are using for the Many Glacier Campground is incorrect. It is actually a picture of the KOA in St. Mary, located outside of the park. Also there are 41 camp sites available for advance reservations and 62 sites on a first-come, first-served basis.

This is a first come, first served campground, and difficult to get a space. You must drive all the way around to the other side of the park, with the risk that it may not have space. But the scenery on this side of the park, as well as close proximity to the Grinnell Glacier and Ice Lake hikes make the risk worth it.

The trick is to arrive just as people are packing up, as camp hosts place a white slip of paper on the post of sites that are departing that day. So you can drive around and scope out a site without having to disturb campers to inquire as to when they are leaving.

There is also a handy information board at both Visitor's centers, and also online that tells the time of day that the campground filled the previous days, so you will get an idea of how early you need to get there to find a spot. I overnighted in Glacier Peaks Casino in Browning to get an early morning run on a site in September, mid week. The campground was filled by 11am.

Site #12 was a decent sized pull through site with lots of vegetation blocking other sites, but yet the overhead was clear for a good solar charge. And the cleaner, warmer restrooms of the nearby Swiftcurrent Inn are a closer walk to this side of the campground than the colder, more spartan campground restrooms. The other side has a few nice riverside sites.

No cell signal of any kind here. The closest is 15 miles down the road at the Two Sisters Cafe, where you can take your laptop and enjoy a really good burger and brew, and yummy huckleberry pie!

Sites on a series of loop roads vary from back ins to curved pull throughs, our choice for our 25' Airstream. There are a few larger sites on the roads cutting across the camp and down by the river but most tend toward the smaller.

Beautiful view of Grinnell Point from camp and an easy walk to the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn for sundries. Or a little farther is the historic Many Glacier Lodge. Stop in for a decent dinner or grab a ticket on the two connecting boat trips which take you up the valley. From here you can do an easy 1 mile hike to Grinnell Lake or more like 3-4 up to Grinnell Glacier. Whether you drive around the park (trailers and motorhomes are not permitted on the Going to the Sun Road through the park) or approach from the small but beautiful Waterton Park to the north, Many Glacier is an incredible part of Glacier National Park.

Zero cell cvg on any ATT or Verizon.

If you'll be visiting East Glacier, there is probably no better place to stay than Many Glacier. Our site was just perfect for our 30' Flying Cloud, and one of the best spots in the campground, right on Swiftcurrent Creek, lined by jaw-dropping peaks and wildlife. All the sites were well tended and private. We had both bears and moose in our site, saw beautiful birds and a beaver swimming up the creek. Rangers set up spotting scopes so visitors can check out grizzlies grazing on the hillside behind the Inn.

Hiking options are excellent right from the campground, and Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, which also houses a convenient camp store with hot showers and laundry, is just a short walk away. Boat tours and shuttles for Going to the Sun Road leave from there. We were there early in the season and the cafe had not hit its stride yet on Father's Day -- our breakfast was less than impressive, so wouldn't go back for a meal, but I can see the appeal of having a beer and a snack after a long hike.

Campground was very quiet and well staffed. No gators coming around at all hours. This place is remote -- no cell coverage, and no hookups. No generators allowed in the reservable portion. Flushing toilets nearby were clean.

Had an awesome lunch at Two Sisters Cafe outside the campground on the main road. Excellent burgers and shakes, and such a fun spot.

My only regret with Many Glacier was that we couldn't stay longer! I wish I was waking up there this morning.

Everyone else has said how great this place is, and I agree, so I will give some tips on how to get a site in the busy summer months.

In the summer this campground typically fills by 8am, which you can check here https://home.nps.gov/applications/glac/cgstatus/cgstatus.cfm or see the past fill times here https://home.nps.gov/applications/glac/cgstatus/camping_detail.cfm?cg=Many%20Glacier , but it's even more complicated than this, people line up as early as 2am to get in line for a spot!

Many Glacier works differently than most campgrounds, each night they put up a barrier to keep you from looking for sites like you would in most campgrounds, instead you line up in order, and at 7am the rangers come out to assign you a site in the order you arrived, hence the insanely early arrivals. We arrived at 4am out of paranioa of not getting a site over Labor Day weekend, but this proved to be a waste, the next person did not arrive till 5am, and most did not show up until 6am, there was a line of 10 people or so. Apparently by Labor Day it is starting to slow down a bit, but in July and August plan on getting there very early if you want a spot. After Labor Day the reservation only sites become open to first come first serve, so in my opinion this is the time to be here.

The rangers were great, we requested a site with good solar and they set us up right next to the river with good sun. Most of the site in the 70-90 range have decent solar, but most of the sites in the campground do not.

There is zero cell service here, you will have to drive all the way to Babb on that horrible road if you want any, but we had Verizon LTE there.

We traveled to Many Glacier for our wedding in early July 2017, and were set on a spot at Many Glacier Campground. After we failed at the online reservation system (despite having many of us at our computers right as reservations opened each day), I successfully stalked recreation.gov long enough (read as: a few months) to luck into a cancellation. While we could have taken the gamble of first come first serve, we did not want to risk not grabbing a spot given our large trailer size for the campground. It was tight for a 27' trailer, but there did seem to be a few bigger rigs there. Our site was tight loop, but we squeezed in carefully. If you do plan to first come, folks started lining up VERY early in the morning, or sometimes the night before, to get a site for the next day. The facilities are all well maintained and the park rangers are on hand to answer questions and hold all accountable for "bear proofing".This was the most beautiful pay for campsite we have stayed in so far in our travels. The location gives you easy access to popular hikes in east glacier, is across from the amenities of Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, and near Swiftcurrent Lake. Maybe the joy of the week tainted us, but we are ready to get back to this campground ASAP. The road into Many Glacier is bumpy so be prepared to take it slow. It is about a 25 minute drive into Browning to get any cell reception. The hotels offer wifi for guests, but it is spotty.

I don't even know where to start. This CG is probably my favorite that we've ever stayed at. Not only is the hiking great, the views amazing, the wildlife abundant and the huckleberry ice cream at the Swiftcurrent Inn to die for, the campground itself is awesome.

I chose to make a reservation 6 months before. After a few attempts, I was able to snag site 35. (FYI, reservations are hard to get here, especially if you're in anything bigger than 24'.) The site was amazing, but I literally barely got the camper out of the site. It was a pull-thru but there was a tree very forward in the site (around where my truck doors were) that wasn't going to allow me to pull out going forward. I had to back out of a nearly impossible site.

Our second site (I messed up the nights for my reservation) was a first-come-first-served site 75. It wasn't in the trees like 35 but had amazing views. A note on their first-come-first-served sites. They make you line up outside the CG and they assign you a site based on who's leaving each day. Lines start at 4 or 5 in the morning and sometimes people even sleep in their cars overnight to get a site. When we were there in late August, they had shut down St. Mary's to tenters because of bears so the demand was super high at Many Glacier.

If you're in a bigger camper or RV, the sites are limited.

They had lots of bathrooms. About half the bathhouses were newer and felt cleaner and more sparkly. They had wash sinks that we were able to dump our grey water into 5 gallons at a time. Lots of water spigots around the CG but they aren't threaded. If you need threaded hose to fill up your fresh water, get it at the dump station on your way in. Limited generator hours (3 2-hour blocks during the day). If you're using solar, there aren't many sunny spots.

The hiking from this CG is unmatched. We hiked 3 times and all were completely unique and insanely amazing. Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier are must-dos. There's also a nice easy hike up to a couple of lakes from the CG called Swiftcurrent Pass Trail. Take it to just above Redcap Lake for some beautiful falls.

One of our favorite things each day was walking over to the Swiftcurrent Inn store and getting some ice cream. For $2.50 you can load up a container of soft-serve as high as you want (the kids...And their dad, LOVED this). They also have a (overpriced) restaurant and a great store with souvenirs and basic groceries. They have a local beer that you can buy by the bottle that's fantastic. While the Inn has wifi, it's only for hotel guests.

The road to get to this CG is the worst I've ever driven on. I was amazed that the camper was in one piece when we arrived.

I want so badly to go back to Many Glacier. Do yourself a favor and spend 5-6 days here. You won't be disappointed.

This was a nice campground but very crowded. More tents than trailers. We got lucky because the sign says full and we took a ride through and saw several empty spaces late in the day. A ranger asked if we were lost and we said we where hoping for s spot. She said she had one ! Yeh ! If you stay in Glacier National Park don’t believe the signs if they say Full ! We just fit in the spot but we where only staying one night. Was short walk to restaraunt.
No hook ups. Fee was half with Senior interagency pass.

I love the feeling of being in nature. This campground can feel a bit crowded but grab one of the spots along the edge of the grounds and you are instantly transported back into nature. The hikes in the Many Glacier area are some of the best in the National Park. We love Grinnell Glacier, Cracker Lake, Iceberg Lake! We almost always see a moose or a bear when we visit the Many Glacier area. The road in is very rough but if taken slowly most of the crater-sized potholes can be dogged.
