The Beckwith Theatre Company is a not-for-profit community theater group dedicated to bringing the best in live theater to our community. Our present group was formed back in 1990, but The Beckwith Theatre Company dates back to the turn of the century, when the city of Dowagiac was known around the world as the home of the Round Oak Furnace. The Beckwith Theatre Company does theater all year long. Our productions include dramas, comedies, musicals, and even a bit of Shakespeare. The Beckwith Theatre Company is also haunted! Dating back to the 1800s, the theater company has been spooked by a young Depression-era girl. Her apparition has in rare cases been seen, sometimes along with whispers or laughter, but more often witnesses will find that their personal objects have been moved or hidden.
