Douglas WWII P.O.W. Camp
This was an interesting little stop. A neat history lesson for our kids and us. The lady at the desk was friendly and answered all our questions. She mentioned they were in the process of restoring the building to look as it did originally. The video was really well done and informative. Definitely worth the short stop.
Great short stop 1 minute from the highway. There's a very informative video that's about 11 minutes long, a clean bathroom, and a great little place to stretch your legs while learning about a little known piece of history and enjoying the beautiful murals painted by the POWs when they were here. So glad we stopped. Even my 7 & 8 year old enjoyed it! Free and open during the day.
This was a nice stop and history lesson for my boys. The video is a must and it’s only 11 minutes. It’s right off the highway. Just the one building remains and the saved it because of the murals. Staff very nice.
