“a peaceful getaway under 100 year-old live oak trees”
Memories from the past... are stirred for all those who visit Cabahanosse Bed and Breakfast and Antiques & Gifts. The name Cabahanosse (pronounced Cab-a-no-see), is a Choctaw Indian word meaning "sleeping place of the ducks" and was the main street name when the town plan for Donaldsonville was drawn for William Donaldson in 1806. Our Bed & Breakfast is home to four elegant suites and welcomes families, friends and travelers as a peaceful getaway under 100 year-old live oak trees, just a short walk from many fine restaurants, historic sites, churches and museums. As you plan your Louisiana visit along the historic Mississippi River Road to tour our grand Southern plantation homes, keep in mind that Cabahanosse Bed and Breakfast -- Antiques and Gifts is centrally located right in the heart of Plantation Country. Many plantations are within a 15- to -50 minute drive from Cabahanosse -- from Nottoway and Madewood Plantations to Houmas House, Oak Alley and Laura Plantation -- all located along the River Road as reminders of the Southern past.
