“Preserving history of Dodge City”
Boot Hill Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of Dodge City and the Old West. Dodge City was founded in 1872 and quickly became the world's largest shipping point for Longhorn cattle. Dodge was the wildest of the early frontier towns, but law and order was soon established with the help of men such as Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp, and Bill Tilghman. Dodge City was a town that persisted and grew, and still honors its western heritage
Fantastic! Even on a 102 degrees day with 5yr yr old and 7 yr old grandkids, it was well worth it. The employees are awesome and really play there parts to the point you truly feel like you've walked back in time to the wildwest. A must see if in Kansas.
We had such an awesome time at this place. The gun shootout show is so cool! My daughter who is obsessed with the Old West had an amazing time. It’s a must if you are passing through Kansas.
This was a wonderful stop! Go for the big package you will not regret it at all!! Wonderful history with it.
When we stopped there was construction going on BUT we will be back once the construction is finished.
Very interesting. Highly recommend this place.
One of the best museums I have ever visited. It is a little off of the beaten path, but it is a must see for anyone who fancies themselves a fan of the Wild West!
This was a really nice stop for our whole group. The kids loved exploring all of the different buildings and areas. We stayed for the staged gun fight which was great! Lots of history and great collection of items from days gone bye. We bought the basic admission ticket because we were not able to stay long. However, I would have loved to have seen their variety show which is a few extra bucks. Very nice gift shops, diner and ice cream parlor. Plan to spend about three hours to walk through, relax and enjoy everything. I would certainly go again.
Great place to learn about the history of Dodge City. Museum closes at 5, but cowboy dinner, gunfight and variety show are from 6-8:30ish.
Really informational. Enjoyed walking back in time. Definitely a must see.
