“225-acre multi-purpose recreation area with lake,”
225-acre multi-purpose recreation area with lake; hunting; grass trails through wetland and grassland; asphalt bike/hike trail around lake.
I was super skeptical of stopping here at first because the website and apps had little to no additional information, so I hope my review will help others traveling along Route 20. This is a really nice county camp right off 20. When you get off the exit the first right takes you directly to the lake for fishing etc. the second right takes you down a short gravel road to the camp. You self pay by filling out info on a paper they provide at the site posts or bathhouse. We stayed 1 night for $15. They have fire pits with cooking racks and a picnic table at each site. There is 30/50 amp hookups plus potable water and a dump station for overnighters. There is noise from the highway but it is distant so you barely notice. Lots of space on the gravel sites, some are pull in the rest are back in. Everyone was very friendly and we took our dogs with us. There’s a playground for kids and lots of grass for dogs! We have a smaller travel trailer but we saw a majority of the other people were all in big rigs and looked to be camping here for a bit probably fishing etc. the lake really is quite gorgeous. The bathhouse is nothing fancy but convenient. It’s a single room type bathroom w a lock and then there’s a shower in there too. Again nothing fancy but it was nice to have.
