“Pristine white, sugar sand beaches”
Henderson Beach State Park has one of Florida's most prized assets, pristine white, sugar sand beaches and more than 6,000 feet of scenic shoreline bordering the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. In the midst of urban sprawl that now dominates the coastline of Florida's panhandle, Henderson Beach State Park is an unexpected oasis of exquisite natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy swimming; picnicking, fishing, camping, bicycling and nature walks.

It offers you the magnificent views, the feeling of the warm, white, soft sand cuddling in your feet while you are walking by the sea. This place can become a space for escaping the daily routine, choosing whether to walk by the sea or within the park, enjoying the breeze of the trees surrounding your body. Crystal clear waters allow anyone to swim!! It was not overcrowded, so it offered privacy.Very well organised, including picnic tables, clean bathrooms and showers! Great for spending precious family moments!
$30 per night. They are fully booked 10 months ahead. No sewer hookups.
Very nice campground and gorgeous beach!
Loved this spot. Easy beautiful walk to the beach from the campground boardwalk. Private level spots. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. $30 for the site but when booking online the fees make it $40

Wish I would have stayed longer, way longer, but the sites were booked out. I had a great site by the bath house, there is a fairly short but very clean trail to the beach. A little bit of woods and then a boardwalk over the dunes. The beach was damn perfect. No shirt and barefoot in December was nice. I did drink on the beach of course with no issues. I wanted to bring my dog(pets not allowed on beach) I should have I didn't see any officials of any kind. Park was good, smaller loops right across from a bunch of shops and a very cheap and huge ABC store. Bath houses were good clean and worked properly. Staff was friendly as well as others I met there. Great stay but there is ton of construction all over the road that parallels the campground and is very noisy but I didn't care. Wifi worked good as well.

The sites at this campground are the most private I have ever seen. We could not even see any neighbors from our site #18. The site was a long pull-through with more than enough space for our 43 ft. toy hauler and we even had room for the rear patio. There is a very nice walking path to the beach, and every evening we enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. The location is perfect for visiting Destin. Verizon and AT&T had pretty weak signals, but T-Mobile worked great.

Super clean, very private, beach access isn’t too far away. The beach isn’t crowded, very close to Walmart.
Tip: book more time than. You think because this is a too shelf State Park.

It was a bizarre experience, turning on 98, passing numerous strip malls and restaurants on both sides of the road, with the gps telling us that our destination was only a mile away. But, as soon as you turn into the park, it is as if none of that stuff even exists. You can see the resorts at the edges of the park from the beach, but inside the campground- you have to struggle to try and see something around the thick, low foliage. The saw palmettos create privacy between each campsite. You couldn't see your neighbor at all- at least not where we were.
I swore we heard the waves all night the first night we were there. There was a huge weather system moving in, so the waves were bigger.
The heated bathrooms are so clean, and all the toilets worked just fine, with locking stall doors and hot showers.
The campground hosts and park volunteers were some of the nicest people we encountered on our trip. Firewood was easily bought from them, but make sure you have exact change.
The only downside I found was that you can hear the highway in the daytime, but at night it is mostly quiet. Occasionally, loud planes fly in and out of a nearby airport, and sightseeing helicopters fly overhead- but Destin is a bustling community so it would be silly to expect absolute peace and quiet.

Although it rained on us most of the weekend. We had a totally spacious and private site. We had no sites behind us and tons of brush between us and the neighbors. Can’t even tell if there was someone next to us. Given that it rained most of the time the site drained perfectly. We were two spots away from the bath house and there was a trail that lead to the beach. Definitely want to come back in the summer when we can enjoy mor of what the park has to offer.

I absolutely in every way loved this place. I had no idea how lucky I was to get 2 nights, as it seems to be booked in perpetuity.
1. Incredibly private sites, both back in and pull through
2. Extremely modern, clean restrooms
3. Hot showers
4. Beautiful landscaping makes you feel like an RV Resort in the Keys
5. Amazing staff and the camp hosts helped us move spots during our stay by keeping us up to date on when we could transition
Very hard to imagine a park any nicer with this view, beach access or access to shopping/touristy stuff anywhere. We love our boondocking setup but this place is our top list to come back to.
