Its not really an RV park, but more like a property on the mining site with hook ups. Everyone there except us has been to the Royal Peacock many times on their annual opal digging trips. If we were going through this part of Nevada again, I'd stay here -- especially in the summer. The road leading to the park is terrible -- it takes a really long time because it's unpaved and you have to go very slowly. We ended up shaking loose 2 cabinets.

We usually only boondock, but we wanted to do the mining here. It is a wonderful park, clean, friendly, helpful, very well maintained. The showers(we used the old bath house, we were told the new ones were even nicer) were wonderful and well appointed after a day of digging in the dirt.
We were at the mine when the owner came to tell us our dog was barking, she was so nice about it, told us we could bring our dogs to the dig site with us (which we did).
We took our dogs a mile down the road and found a path to walk them off leash, we also visited the "warm" hot springs at the Virgin Valley Campground 8 miles back towards Denio, very pleasant.
Long dirt road (30 plus miles) but to us it was very well maintained, were able to go between 30 - 40 mph most of the way.

We had a great time even though we didn’t find enough to retire ;)
Julie is fantastic. She’s welcoming, works off the honor system, and remembers your name. They have full hookups available, clean bathrooms/showers, a laundry room and internet that is finicky (at least at spot 10).
As mentioned, we didn’t find an egg sized fire opal but that didn’t stop us from having fun. Where else can you treasure hunt in dirt? Craig is informative and helpful at the mine.
It’s truly out in the middle of nowhere but the dirt road in is well maintained and scenic.
We’d definitely go again.

I booked a 50A site (13A) but when I arrived, I found out there was no firepit. I asked if there were any other options and they were able to move me to a 30A RV site with a firepit. It was memorial weekend so the place was packed and fully booked but they were still able to accommodate my request. They also planned a BBQ and a band to play since it was memorial weekend. Folks who paid for mining was able to attend the dinner. The band could not play because it ended up raining.
The bathrooms were clean and was always stocked with toilet paper. Shower was also clean and had good pressure with hot water.
There's no reception here but there is WIFI (star-link?) available around the campground.
I drove here with a Tesla Y and was able to charge at the campground with the full amperage (30A -> 24A for the vehicle). Cassie was very helpful with her knowledge about opal mining and we went out to the tailings for a day to try our luck. We found a few pieces of small opal and petrified wood pieces.

As others mentioned, this is not an easy place to get to because it's out of the way on a 10 mile dirt road. But my old 2000 Dodge Ram van made it okay!
This is actually a nice RV Park with picnic tables and fire pits. That also has a laundry for facility and truly the nicest showers I've ever seen in an RV park.
The owners are nice and very accommodating, and well-behaved dogs are welcome. If you're looking for a place to come and mine for opals, this is it

Great place to stop for overnighter or to stay a couple days. Just be aware that the road to the mine is 8 miles of washboard dirt road. We drove in at night at 5-10 mph but asked owners the next day and they recommended going 25 mph and you ride on top of the ridges. Much better! We came late and left the next day. Mined our opals from the shopkeepers display😁. Nice selection of jewelry, and very friendly and accommodating owners.
