“The unofficial worlds biggest treehouse”
***Ministers Treehouse is currently CLOSED!*** Horace Burgess's treehouse (also known as the Minister's Treehouse) is a treehouse and church in Crossville, Tennessee. Construction began in 1993, mostly by Burgess who says he had a visionary commandment from God to build a treehouse, and has continued since. Today it is a popular local attraction which has been unofficially called the largest tree house in the world. It was closed by the state in 2012 for fire code violations. Horace Burgess, a local Minister, was praying in 1993 when he claims God told him, "If you build a tree house, I'll see that you never run out of material." Inspired by the vision, Burgess began building the treehouse. As of 2013, the 97-foot-tall tree house and church is supported by a still-living 80-foot-tall white oak tree with a 12-foot diameter base, and relies on six other oak trees for support. When not in service, the church doubles as a basketball court. The treehouse is located on Beehive Lane in Crossville, Tennessee. It has become a popular tourist attraction. In August 2012, the structure was closed to public access by the state since it had become a public attraction but did not follow fire safety codes. Although there is no Guinness World Records category for largest treehouse, it is often referred to unofficially as the world's largest. This place is on private property. It is closed due to not passing fire code. Local side it's due to reopen in 6 months but will have to sign a waiver- enter at own risk.

All fenced off, we were going to try to go in but the sheriff pulled up, although he was nice enough to take our picture
Absolutely beautiful and cool. Look from afar if you want. You can see the very top tower if you drive down the gravel road to get closer. Look up close if you can. So many cool things to see.
Definitely worth a stop. Not that far off the interstate. Also, my kids saw fireflies for the first time here!
OMG! Such a cool place. Kids loved it and the chance that they might go to jail for trespassing made it even more of an adventure. Met a local girl who also brought an out of town friend to see it. She said the minister sold the property recently so who knows if you'll still be able to jump the fence in the future. The 10 story structure is really sturdy even up to the bell tower. Loved the Upper room with the chainsaw carved figures. My boys had a blast on the 8 story high tree swing. It was well worth the diversion. No turn around for big rigs but only a short walk it you want to park on the main road.
Also hopped the fence. Definitely worth it. Hope they open it back up. Call the Fire Marshall's office and ask them to reopen it! Politely!!

The treehouse was closed but we were able to hope he fence and see it.
