Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 29, 2023We arrived in the late afternoon - the ranger check in station was closed, but new arrivals were listed in the window with assigned campsite numbers. The campground was very green, filled with ferns and moss, what you would expect in a redwood forest. The campsites were a little small. There was a restriction on trailers longer than 24 feet. There was adequate greenery between the campsites. We felt that there was a a lot of privacy and we could not see into the neighboring campsites. There were hiking trails available, averaging 1-2 miles each, difficulty of moderate to difficult. The bathrooms were basic - a couple of toilets, and 2 pay showers (50 cents for 2 minutes, 25 cents each additional minute). We did notice that the roads were neglected. A new coat of asphalt would have been nice. The campground is about 2 miles off the main road.

Beautiful campground. Lots of redwoods and greenery. Seems well kept for the most part. Had nice showers and a dump station always a plus. Couple of miles from Hwy 101 down in canyon so no road noise at all. Friendly gate keepers and camp host would stay again for sure. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

90% of sites are in Heavy Shaded area. Some sites, you have a few steps to climb up to your tent site from where you park your car...so cool. Most sites are separated from each other with vegetation and proper site planning! Overall, a very well maintained, clean, beautiful place to camp.

A few miles off highway, so no road noise, and no generator noise either. Mostly car camping and small RVs. We had a site that was so big we could run the dog in it. Redwoods, ferns and walking trails everywhere. Mostly shaded, and private sites. No cell service at all for Verizon. Looking forward to going back!

We stayed here in early June 2021 on our way to and from a family reunion further down the California coast. This is a lovely campground with large trees and all the understory of the coast. Site 130 was very private, and close to a bathhouse. Site 115 was some what private, a little more sunny and very nice, and also close to a bathhouse. Showers were great, clean. There are trails but unfortunately dogs are not allowed on them so we had to be content to just walk around the campground, which really was very nice because of the lovely setting. Very quiet.

i stayed here over memorial day weekend so the campground was totally full. despite it being totally full my site still felt really private. the sites have quite a bit of vegetation between them. there is no cell service at all for att here but the check in both where the ranger is has wifi. bathrooms were clean and there were quarter operated showers ($3 for 12 minutes). lots of banana slugs too!!

This is for smaller rigs or tents. The limit of size is very accurate. Hostess very friendly. Used our Senior Pass. Tented it, because our 5th wheel was too long.
