I drove over the Mingus on 89A from Prescott to Cottonwood. There is a 50-foot combined vehicle length on this stretch - it sure looked like some folks were pushing that. But it is a great drive! Everyone at the campground was checking out today and the hosts were closing things for the winter. RV sites have power pedestals but there is no power and no plans for it to be restored anytime soon. The one pedestal I checked out was 50-amp. There is running water too and several vault toilets. A good number of the RV sites are substantial and pull-through, though of varying degrees of level. Some in the higher numbers might have a view towards Sedona. The weather was perfect so it was a shame not being able to stay longer. Unlike the Potato Patch area which is lower, the cell reception here was terrific - T-Mobile phone got 15/4, and AT&T hotspot was better at 32/26.
The host mentioned that the road to the first cattle crossing is going to be upgraded to paved tomorrow. So about 1.5 miles, or roughly half of the road to the camping area will be paved for next season.

Brought our 34' Jayco for this trip. Stayed here for some "local" camping during a stressful week. Spent the days in Prescott/Prescott valley, then would come up to the mountains for the nights. It was incredible, perfect balance. We got up here on a Wednesday night and had a selection of sites, but come Friday, the sites were all full. Went for a hike early morning and saw deer. Will come back again for some more local camping in the trees.
