“The oldest park in Columbus”
Goodale Park is surrounded by Victorian Village, a cluster of homes with charming architectural features. It is the oldest park in Columbus and among the oldest in the United States. A favorite spot for locals and a site for Music in the Air concerts. Although Goodale Park contains an expansive playground and tennis courts, the park's main attraction is its view of the Columbus skyline and the serenity offered alongside a scenic pond and the charm of the gazebo and of its historic park shelter. A walk through Goodale Park is a refreshing experience.
We went here on a weekend, and it was super busy. Lots of people exercising (walking, running, stretching, etc) and lots of people with dogs. The parking lot was almost completely full. There's a decent view of the skyline of Columbus, Ohio. It's located near downtown, so it's busy and more traffic than I'm used to. There are benches around the pond to sit on. There is also a gazebo. One of my favorite things about the park is a giant cake like fountain in the middle with two elephants sitting on top.
Really beautiful urban park that's large enough to picnic in without it being weird but too small to host an entire run. The fish pond is a great communion spot with benches surrounding. It's cold but visitors sometimes put their feet in the water. Grab an ice coffee at North Market and take the stroll around this green space.
