Bierstadt Lake, part of Rocky Mountain National Park, is a moderate hike from its on trailhead on Bear Lake Road, or down from Bear Lake directly. In the fall, the hike up from Bear Lake Road offers a great view of the front range with surrounding yellow aspen. The Lake itself is of modest beauty, but frequently quiet and serene, with great grassy shores, and rocks, amongst pines trees, a trail that circumnavigates the whole Lake with a great skyline of selected front range peaks.
