“voted Northeast Ohio's favorite ice cream”
Voted Northeast Ohio’s Favorite Ice Cream! Honey Hut has recently been selected “Cleveland’s Favorite Ice Cream” by The Plain Dealer readers (with over 79,000 participants!). We’re proud that all of our ice cream is “Cleveland Made”, using ingredients from Cleveland companies as much as possible. Thanks for your support during the past forty years. The story of Honey Hut began in 1973 when Frank and Marianne Page bought Bruno’s Shoe Repair Shop at 4674 State Road in the Old Brooklyn area of Cleveland. Mr. and Mrs. Page and their five children immediately sat down at brainstorming sessions to craft a menu. Frank envisioned an ice cream store there that would attract families searching for a quality product at a fair price with excellent customer service. Frank knew the location would require a lot of renovation, so he set to work quickly, but it wasn’t long until he realized he would need some help. Luckily, Mr. Page was a firefighter for the City of Cleveland, so with the help of his fellow firefighters, he remodeled the cobbler shoe shop in time to open the following summer.
