Clearwater Beach dazzles with impeccable beaches and inviting waters. Caladesi Island, off the north end of the beach, was recognized as the nation's best by Dr. Beach (2008). Spread along a narrow, 3-mile stretch of the Pinellas Peninsula on the Gulf Coast, Clearwater Beach straddles the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and tranquil Tampa Bay to the east. Clearwater Beach is approximately 20 miles from Tampa International Airport and 25 miles from Downtown Tampa. It offers shopping, restaurants, and activities such as parasailing, jet ski rentals, boat tours (with a common sighting of dolphins in the Gulf waters), miniature golf, fishing charters, and "pirate ship" cruises.
Clearwater Beach is an ideal family destination. Crystal clear and warm water, white sand ideal to lie and sunbathe.
All the amenities such as restaurants, kids playgrounds, cafes and shops are just seconds away from the beach.
We bought sandwiches and sat at the beach to eat them when suddenly seagulls took them from our hands without a warning.! This was awkward and awesome together!
Very busy but we found a place to park our car!
Clearwater Beach is quite beautiful, crystal clean, and laid back. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Tampa. Furthermore, I visited Clearwater during the "busy season" and had no trouble finding a parking spot--a rare occasion during the busy season.
There are many great aspects about Clearwater. I love the Gulf Coast in general, but a few things that stand out are the cool and chill atmosphere, the main road with its stores and food & drink establishments, and the cleanliness. It's almost as if Clearwater is the extroverted version of Siesta Key? Cool place. On the downside, traffic was a bit painful at times.
