“From falls to fossils”
Located on the banks of the Ohio River in Clarksville, Indiana at I-65, exit 0, is the Falls of the Ohio State Park. The 390-million-year-old fossil beds are among the largest, naturally exposed, Devonian fossil beds in the world. The park features a spectacular Interpretive Center overlooking the fossil beds containing an exhibit gallery and video presentation. The Interpretive Center is open year round, except Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
We love this place. We live nearby and visit a few times a year. Great for viewing the river, exploring fossil beds, and bird watching. Kids love it.
First trip there, we had a great time!
Bird watching was awesome. View of river and Kentucky was beautiful.
Unfortunately the weather was not accommodating during our visit, but the center was very interesting and the property that we could see from the museum was beautiful and intriguing. We will definitely make an effort to return on another occasion when the weather is more pleasant to explore the area.
