“Authentic Greek cuisine”
Sebastian’s was started in 1976 by Alex, a Greek immigrant from a small village near Kastoria, Greece. Alex spent time in Sweden and Germany before he decided to come to America. Together with his family, Alex has worked hard to be one of the first people to introduce Greek cuisine into Cincinnati’s culture. The word gyros comes from the Greek word that means “to turn” – that is why the gyros meat turns as it cooks. So how do you pronounce the word gyros anyway? Alex and crew have heard everything from zoro to yoyo. The correct way to pronounce the word gyros is “year-oh.” We don’t expect you to say it with a Greek accent of course.
