“delicious & authentic street tacos”
Mexican street food made with fresh ingredients. A nice menu with lots of authentic dishes (tacos, emapanadas, etc). Well-crafted street tacos with a salsa bar and a funky street art vibe. I yearned for an honest, fresh take on the cuisine so close to my heart. For the next month, visions of a legitimate taquería overwhelmed my frenzied brain. I would wake suddenly in the middle of the night, thinking about these new-fangled, unrelenting ideas. The model for what would eventually become “Mazunte” was starting to take shape.
Wow! My tastebuds haven't been this happy in a long time! Pulled pork tacos and sangria were my menus faves.
Mazunte is amongst the best taco places I've been in the city, if not the best. The place has a cool vibe, everyone that works there is Mexican so they know how to do some of the more traditional, authentic stuff, and the tortillas and salsas are pretty good. Most people probably go for the tacos because it's what is most familiar, but the memelitas and the quesadillas in my opinion are much, much better.
The word 'Mazunte' refers to a small beach town on the southern Pacific Coast of Mexico. The guy that started this restaurant is a surfer and lived down there for a few years surfing and teaching English. He fell in love with the delicious local cuisine and decided to bring a piece of it back to Cincinnati with him. So you can definitely get some less Americanized stuff here.
It's not technically listed on the menu, but order the pulled pork tostada. So delicious.
Outside of Bakerfield's short rib taco, the pulled pork taco from Mazunte is my favorite in Cincinnati. Guac is amazing too.
I love, love, love this place. The dude who opened this is a super cool dude who is very passionate about the food. He opened this after moving back to Cincinnati from Mexico and really missing the food he ate while there. It's hidden gem in Cincinnati. I always order the fish and pork tacos. They're down right delicious. They've just partnered with Neon's so you can get their delicious tacos there, too, now.
So yummy! Authentic Mexican in a sweet place. Taco bar, self serve sangria or margarita, seat yourself and easy cleanup! The food is delicious and a great deal!
This is my favorite mexican restaurant in Cincy, hands down. It feels truly authentic with a great welcoming vibe despite the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere out in the burbs in a small mall haha.
They've got a traditional booth where they scoop your chips and you can go ham getting any salsas you want. I recommend the chorizo tostadas or steak tacos. Unfortunately no tacos al pastor. You got to hit La Mexicana in Kentucky for those.
They keep adding more and more seating, making this place better and better especially on a weekend night when crowds are largest
The best Mexican food in Cincinnati. Everything I've had here is good, but anything with their pulled pork is GREAT. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's kind of small and it can be really difficult to find a place to sit.
