It's good old-fashioned summertime fun at this amusement park on the East side of town with classic rides and Sunlite Pool, the largest recirculating pool in the world! Get in line for a turn on the Tilt-a-Whirl or Ferris Wheel, play a game in the arcade or experience the feeling of bungee jumping in the EuroBungy Dome. And don't miss a turn on the new Wipe Out thrill ride.
Fun to visit once, but keep expectations in check. This place is more... old-school than Kings Island. The pool is big, but doesn't exactly provide hours of entertainment.
A very old school amusement park. It's on the East side of town and is of course full of Eastsiders. The rides are ok, small but fun. The pool area is really the main attraction. I think they are redoing the area which is greatly needed. Packed in the summer and fun to visit with a group of friends. Not the cleanest place! It's also a great place to hold events. When I was young, my Mom's company did outings there and it was always a blast. So a fun place to visit with kids! Also, it's in a great area for the summer. With Riverbend (concert venue) and Riverdowns (horse racing and casino) right next door, it's all day entertainment.
The Sunlite Pool is open 10am-8pm, May 24th-August 24th; 10am-6pm August 25th-29th and 10am-8pm August 30th-Sept 1st. Classic Rides start 11am daily and stay open fairly late. I paid $8 to park and $24 as an adult
As amusement parks go, Coney Island is not great. There is fun to be had, for sure, but it can't compete with something like Kings Island. It remains, however, a fun venue during the off-season. It isn't a bad amusement park, but don't expect the latest and greatest of anything.
The cheaper alternative to Kings Island for sure, and with good reason. The pools are the kind of place where you find band aid's at the bottom. Rides here tend to break down a lot (Been stuck twice on coasters here) but for some reason I still come back. I think the jankiness and old feel are part of the charm.
It's tempting to compare Coney Island to Kings Island, but they're totally different. Coney may be smaller and older but it's got a neat kitschy, old-school vibe. The bumper boats were always my favorite as a kid!
Great old school vibe. I don't really find much comparison between Coney and Kings Island. Coney Island seems to shoot for more of a nostalgic and retro vibe. Rides aren't really worth it if you're over the age of 16. The pool is a great place for kids... As I've gotten older I've slowly realized that the giant clumps of hair at the bottom are kind of a downer.
A little pricey but a lot of fun with friends and kids alike
