Beatniks Coffee House and Breakfast Joint

Beatniks began serving food in September of 2010, rejuvenating the location's coffee shop history with a more mature, inspiring palate of gourmet meals and coffees, featuring the North Valley's abundance of local sustenance. Come in for freshly baked pastries, order something to go, or kick back and have a cup of freshly brewed coffee by Cal Java Coffee Roasters. We have free wifi and soft lighting, so you can get comfy and stay a while. Beatniks resident chef, Dean Criscitiello, hails from Norwhich, CT. With Cuban/Italian blood running through his veins, he was destined to be a chef, but the range of his experience is impressive. He's been in the army, attended culinary school, catered for the Staples Center, and toured as a chef for the likes of Tori Amos, Alannis Morrisette, Limp Bizkit, The Eagles, Godsmack, Ben Harper, and many others. Moving to Chico to be closer to his family, Dean landed the gig as the front man for Beatniks. Dean helped design Beatniks menu, creating authentic recipes using, when possible, many ingredients from Chico's prolific local fare.
