“famous late night Tots”
From the famous late-night Tots and the free jazz on Mondays to the 20 beers on tap, this is a neighborhood haunt better than most. And there’s no finer marker of Skylark’s devoted following than the constant clutter of parked bikes just outside its doors. Chicago's starving artists finally have a place to eat. Skylark has turned a vacant corner tavern in Pilsen into the unofficial headquarters for the community's burgeoning artistic community. Located under the shadow of the Dan Ryan Expressway, the bar's combination of working-class ethos, cheap beer and stick-to-your-ribs Southern-fried specialties has created the perfect sanctuary for bourgeois-weary bohemians.
If you're looking for cheap beer, cheap food, and cheap company, Skylark is your place. It's definitely a "dive bar" in every way, but there's a reason that it's always packed. If you're looking for a place to take a date, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a place to pick up a one-night-stand, you're in luck.
Definitely order the tots.
Quintessential little dive bar, it's a good meet-up spot to hang out with good friends. There's generally a lot of street parking nearby. I used to go hang out for hours on rainy Sundays with friends, drink beer and eat lots of tater tots (their tater tots are good). But yes, definitely a dive bar at its core.
