Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 17, 2023I camped here for a night on a recent road trip. Lake Chelan is gorgeous. The campsite is located right on the lake and was very clean. The rangers were very accommodating. The town of Chelan is just a few miles south and had plenty to offer.
Lake Chelan State Park, Chelan County, Washington. Most of us have been to Lake Chelan. If you haven't, I strongly encourage adding it to your Bucket List. There are new developments: on the east side of the Park, which were once steep hillsides dropping down to the Lake, have been build some brilliant terraced campsites with stairways that lead to a nice lakeside path. Each site has 2 or 3 landings -- one for a tent, one for a picnic table, and one for opening up your lawn chairs and taking it all in. There is also bad news afoot: the newer RV sites are in full blazing sun and hopelessly small. But stay tuned: in one week I have a solution for RVers. We camped here over Labor Day Weekend. Our site was one in a row of three tent sites on the opposite side of the road from the river. Our site did not have a truly level tent pad. The tent pad was just barely big enough to fit our ridiculously large tent. On the plus side, it was mostly surrounded by brush & trees, providing a lot of visual privacy. The sites have a few trees that are appropriate for a hammock; the one I used is between site 37 and the one next to it, down lake.
This campground has a swimming area, boat launch, and a playground. The bathrooms are so-so. The RV area feels like a small city compared to the tent area down lake from it.
There's a restaurant across the street, but it's not open for breakfast. We had a third vehicle at our site, and I was advised the overflow parking was at the gas station five miles down the road. I thought the ranger was kidding -- I was wrong. This may have been only because of the holiday weekend -- both the day use & the campground was full on Sunday.
There's plenty to do in the area. We fished at the campground and down lake. There's a hiking trail in the campground; I'm not sure how long it is, but it appears to be designed for families/children. If you go into town for breakfast, have the cottage cheese pancakes at the Apple Cup Café.

On our 2 week trip this was the best place we stayed! Sites were big and the lake was very close. No sewer on our side of the RV portion of the park. If you want sewer hookups you need to stay on the North Side of the RV park. There were plenty of hiking trials and things to do. The Bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot! I look forward to camping here again.

We stayed in Lake Chelan State Park for 2 days in May of this year. We had partial RV hook-ups in our spot (30 Amp service and water - no sewage) along with a fire ring and picnic table. The spots are somewhat level (bring some leveling blocks). The campground was 100% full and there were a variety of medium sized trailers and Class B/C RV’s. Our spot was plenty long for our 25 foot class B+ with room to spare on the back and front. There is not a lot of privacy and your neighbors are right next too you - great for families camping together.

We stayed here in March 2021 and had a really nice overnight. Site 15 was in the newly paved FHU RV area. Very level with good utilities. Quiet overnight and lots of star gazing. Deer all around in the afternoon. There’s a big grassy field, group fireplace shelter and kids playground adjacent. Site 17 was closest to the lake with good privacy on the end.

The layout is similar to a commercial rv park. One main road with RV site’s perpetual to the road. All lined up side by side RV , picnic table, RV. I would not stay here again
