Crystal Palace Caves

Nice break from the summer heat. They have options for a 45-minute, 2-hour, or 4-hour tour. The longer tours you will get muddy from head to toe. The tour guide we had, Jasmine, was great. She is a geologist and was passionate about the cave. Although we did not make it to Ruby Falls, we were told this one was better because it is rarely over crowded.

This place is really cool. Not too far off the highway and doesn't feel like a tourist trap. However my only advice is don't go with small kids. It's just not a good your for young ones. They can't touch anything and it's got pretty steep overlooks and cut-outs through out the tour. We actually started the tour and got about 10 min in when we realized this wasn't the right fit for a 3 and 5 year old boy who's been in the car all day! The establishment was very kind and refunded us fully. Kinda disappointed because we weren't able to see it all. Was very pretty and interesting. Would recommend for kids 7 and up though.

I only took the 1/4 mile your but you have the option of exploring all 6 miles of the cave! But any tour will be great for seeing and learning more about these caves and their formations.
