“Southern hospitality on 5 acres of beauty”

The Inn at Monticello, our bed and breakfast in Charlottesville, Virginia, carries on a tradition of gracious southern hospitality on 5 wooded acres, with mature trees shading the house, and a pristine creek running through the stately grounds. The Inn has five guestrooms, all with private baths, and a separate cottage that is sometimes available for guests. Several rooms have fireplaces or private porches. All are decorated with antique or reproduction furniture from the colonial or Victorian eras. In the fall and winter, guests often enjoy a glass of wine by the hearth in the living room. In the spring and summer, they love to sit on the front porch while being entertained by the birds and the deer. Breakfast at the Inn at Monticello is a celebration of fine food and great company. We serve a full gourmet breakfast each morning, with guests seated like family around the dining table. We offer beverages in the afternoon, and homemade cookies or brownies in the evening. Although guests can enjoy the peace and quiet of our award-winning Charlottesville, VA bed and breakfast inn, most choose to take advantage of our convenient location to explore some of the natural and historic sites that are located nearby. We are situated just five minutes from Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and Ashlawn-Highland, the home of James Monroe; and less than 10 minutes from historic downtown Charlottesville's pedestrian mall, and the University of Virginia. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and more than 20 Virginia wineries are within 30 minutes, including Jefferson Vineyards, where our nation's third president, the "Father of American Wine," first tried his hand at viniculture. See why Life Magazine, Drinks Magazine and National Geographic Explorer magazine named the Inn at Monticello as the perfect place to stay when visiting Virginia wineries, or when taking the journey through hallowed ground. The Inn at Monticello is also located in the midst of a thriving performing and culinary arts community. The Paramount Theater and the Charlottesville Pavilion, located on the downtown pedestrian mall, and the John Paul Jones Arena, located on the grounds of the University of Virginia, offer headliner entertainment throughout the year. There are more than 50 great restaurants located with a 10-minute drive of the Inn, offering traditional and internationally-inspired foods. Come and stay with us and see why Frommer's andCities Ranked & Rated recently named Charlottesville as the #1 city in which to live, and why Moneymagazine and Relocate America identified it as a great place to relocate.
