“South Carolina's oldest public building!”

South Carolina's oldest public building. An arsenal dating to 1713. Museum open daily! The Powder Magazine museum is South Carolina's oldest public building. It has been a property of the non-profit the NSCDA-SC since 1902. Exhibits are focused on South Carolina's colonial military history, and available to the public daily. Standards-based field trips and classroom outreach programming is available to assist teachers. Parents, ask about our Scout programs and Pirate Birthday Party!
