Picnic Tables, Vending Machines
Even if you don’t have to use the facilities stop at this one! Great view especially if heading west for first time. Great opening act for Badlands and Black Hills.
Very nice rest area! Clean and has a nice area to read about the history of the area. We stopped to rest for a few hours and once it was light out it was a nice place to eat breakfast we packed and take in the views.
Great View! Their is a short trail that leads to several spots that offer an incredible view of the Missouri River, some 350 feet below - well worth the hike. The Sacajawea Statue that overlooks the entire site is great for pictures. There is a museum dedicated to Lewis and Clark that looks like it would have been very interesting, however it was closed at the time we arrived - only about 5:30PM. The site needs to have later hours during the summer months. Very impressive for a site that otherwise functions as an Interstate 90 rest area.
Bonus: If you are heading west, immediately after getting back on I-90 west, the drop in elevation on I-90 leading up the bridge over the Missouri River is just as dramatic.
