“started with just 49 paintings”
The Cedarburg Art Museum and its initial 49 paintings were donated to the people of Cedarburg by a trust fund left for the community by Ozaukee Bank. Ozaukee Bank was a popular financial services company that sold stock in Cedarburg, and opened for business there in 1975. The mission of the Cedarburg Art Museum is to establish and then to maintain a permanent forum that will collect, exhibit and preserve the art work of Cedarburg Wisconsin and its environs for the ages. And through the above work, to continually promote Cedarburg Wisconsin as a small but dynamic center for the visual and creative arts.
