Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 19, 2021This was our second time here, first with the fifth wheel. Friendly office staff and helpful. On the north side of Cape Girardeau. It's off a busy four lane but fairly easy in and out. All sites were pull throughs and fairly level, gravel was a bit soggy so our site was a bit rutted. Quite a few sites looked like long time rentals, but all were decently kept up, no junk laying around and nice looking units, none looked decrepit. Near the far side of the park is a small lake and a bike/walking path. On the hill above the park is a car wash and it could be heard from some of the sites.
I think it is a bit pricey, but for the ease and convenience we found it worth it. Nice area to walk dogs though no fenced area. Park is well kept and bathrooms and laundry were clean.
There is traffic noise and three times we heard sirens close by. Close to a variety of restaurants.
We would stay again for a night, not a destination place.

Easy access from freeway although turn in was a bit sharp for our 42 ft motorhome with jeep tow. Check in was easy and everyone we met was friendly. Rate reflects Good Sam rate. The sites are gravel but easy to enter and easy to level. There is a great walk/run/bike trail behind the campground and our four legged camper appreciated the trail. The restrooms were a bit sketchy but useable. We did not try the laundry. WiFi is inconsistent but we were able to use it more than not. All in all we would not hesitate to return.

Price reflects Good Sam discount.
I overnighted here but would like to come back and spend more time here. There's a nice pond and just on the other side is a paved nature trail that goes through the whole city. I'm surprised how quiet it is here, other than the blowers on an automatic carwash nearby. It's by the entrance, so if you're staying a while, try to get a spot on the far end. It's hardly noticable over there. Verizon and Sprint are both blazingly fast (I clocked Verizon at 96 Mbps at night, 65 by day).

We arrived from I-55 off exit 99. There was road construction to the campground (CG) but ended right at the CG so we could easily turn left. Check in was easy and we proceeded to pull through site B1 with FHUs. Customer service was outstanding as we had to move our reservations up one day due being at our RV service center an extra day. They did not even blink an eye when we called the original day of arrival and made the adjustment at no cost. We have had other CGs charge us a fee for adjusting reservations. The utilities were placed towards the center of this long site so hooking up was a breeze. We hooked into their cable and received 24 popular channels and the WiFi was way above normal. We got 3 bars each on Verizon and AT&T. Site B1 had a larger yard area being on the end of the row but pretty much everyone drives by but was a good site for our 1 night stay. There wasn’t a picnic table or fire pit though there was a round burnt spot for one. We could have gone to one of the empty sites and grabbed a fire pit and table if we desired. We stayed here over Halloween and the CG had their Halloween event prior so there were no trick or treaters. There was a public paved walking trail along the back of the CG, which was very nice to walk the dogs. There was also a 2 acre fishing pond for CG residents to use. The CG had quite a few transit workers whom were friendly. The park was clean and well maintained. There was quite a bit of road noise during the day and early evening, but not bad at night. There were also black bear warning signs, which we that interesting as there is not a huge population but they are seen in this part of MO now and then. Great overnighter to get us back to our home station on the other side of St. Louis in Illinois. We would also recommend this CG for a few days to explore the area.

We stayed here one night on our way back home and arrived after hours but all of our information was ready for us in a convenient spot at the office. The park is a little tight to get into for us but we are 60' long so most RV's and campers should be just fine. The sites are close together but for what we needed for an overnight stay was sufficient. The area had quite a bit of rain before we arrived so the sites were a little wet but to be expected.

If you stay one night-- no problem. We booked for one month. Horrible. Most live all year or are working in the area. Looks like a ghetto area in a large city. Their website states Internet at all sites--NO. The manager stated too many people on the web since we are long-term. Alot of them work during the day yet no Internet. Picnic tables at all sites NO. The park told us they are running low on picnic tables. The ones that are there one gets many slivers . We ordered one since we did not have one, $30 and will refund with a check 1st of the month. The mini-golf is unusable full of leaves and debris. Their so-called fire ring was a rusted wheel ring. NO concrete pads and NO patios as was stated on their website but now they changed their website. Their asphalt roads have pot holes everywhere. Of the 5 roads 4 are asphalt.
Glad we left early.

This review is written from short stay versus destination point of view. Cape Camping is an easy campground to get to from Interstate 55. Check in was quick and easy. We had chose site A-1 when we made our reservations. However, after we got there we found site A-1 was very muddy from the recent rain. We were offered several sites in the A row and chose site A-2. We hooked into their cable and received 24 popular channels and the WiFi was way above normal. We got 3 bars each on Verizon and AT&T. There was a public paved walking trail along the back of the CG, which was very nice to walk the dogs. There was also a 2 acre fishing pond for CG residents to use. The CG had quite a few transient workers whom were friendly. The park was clean and well maintained. There was quite a bit of road noise to include the carwash adjacent to the CG during the day and early evening, but not bad later at night. Cape Camping is one of our “go to” overnighters on our way home to our home base near St. Louis. We would also recommend this CG for a few days to explore the area.

Where do I begin. We had made reservations to visit our son at college and had a confirmed reservation for $55 per night. Before we arrived we received a notification that the price was increased to $80 (some lamé excuse that they couldn’t change price in their system for special events) because of the eclipse. We stayed in site A9. It was gravel, level and a pull through. Not what we expected for $80 a night, but was ok. People that worked there were nice/pleasant. That is kind of where the Good stopped. Grass needed mowing, internet was not working (had a review in 2021 that said same thing so they don’t address known issues) would not let use use our Good Sam discount (special event) bathhouse was dirty and rundown (paint peeling on floors & in showers),cable tv wasn’t working properly (most channels were fuzzy) had to borrow a cable adaptor from another site to hookup, carpet on mini golf was black with mildew. In general park is run down and in need of a serious upgrade for a Good Sam Park. If you are in need of an overnight while traveling it might be ok. We will not be staying there again.
