This area was probably the highlight of our trip! The scenery is beautiful and we couldn’t believe all the Bison that were there! We also were able to see a coyote come down over the hill where we were standing. Just taking in the beauty there was awesome!

Such a beautiful spot in the park and one of the prime locations to watch for wildlife. We weren't lucky enough to spot wolves while we were there. However, we saw lots of other species: bison, fox, swans, eagles, elk, and many more.

Drive through Lamar Valley to see herds of buffalo, not to mention tons of other wildlife such as foxes, bears, and elk. Be prepared to take your time and enjoy the panoramic scenery. Many travelers advise making the drive early in the morning for the most animal viewings.

One of the best places to see wildlife in the park throughout the year.

We came during November so the rest of Yellowstone was closed. We saw bison, elk, and a coyote came right up to our car while crossing the street. It is pretty much an American safari; super cool!

This is the area of the park where we saw the most bison. The kids were so excited that we got stuck in a bison jam. Also saw a black bear and her two cubs, Coyotes, and Pronghorn

We had an RV and decided to stop for lunch along the Lamar River overlooking the valley. It was beautiful! We had a piece of Yellowstone to ourselves! The buffalo were plentiful and fun to watch. After lunch we walked down to the river, but had to leave sooner than we'd intended when a pair of buffalo decided to come closer to check us out.

Beautiful vistas and lots of wildlife. Look for people pulled over. Some folks showed us wolves through their spotting scopes!

Wildlife viewing guaranteed! Take your time, use pullouts to take pics, and enjoy. The drive through here is worth it.
