We decided to visit Sedona and looked for a close camping location. Being a Saturday we had to stay a bit further out but we are so glad that we did. We did visit Sedona but ended up having more fun in Camp Verde. We visited Montezuma's Castle and V-Bar-V petroglyphs. Such a nice surprise.
The campground was level, clean and VERY well maintained. We had no problem getting into our site. We used the laundry facilities and while not all of the washer and dryers were functional there were more than enough for our needs.
If we are ever in the area again we would gladly stay here again.

Great access to all of the surrounding sites that I wanted to see including Sedona. Very close the casino with a great $8 breakfast buffet. The people at the park were extremely friendly and professional. The sites were large enough and kept clean and tidy.

Distant Drums RV Resort is a great spot for a night or longer.
Pulled in one afternoon in February asking for one night accommodations. They asked if I was ok with partial hookups (I was) and I was put in a perfect sized spot close to the pool, hot tub, laundry room and shower. The $14 price reflects both partial hookups and the use of my Passport America membership.
A park employee guides you to your site in a golf cart and then helps you back in and get level. If you leave your garbage out during the day they'll come pick it up for you. Facilities are clean and extensive, including private showers and a small fenced dog park.
Neighbors were quiet and the views of the surrounding mountains weren't bad either. Close to the highway but I couldn't hear it from my spot.
Verizon service was a bit overloaded, and wifi wasn't consistent to connect.
Service was exceptional and the park was clean. Great stop for a night or longer.

This place is mostly big rigs and spots are super close together. But...they are paved and the place is clean and well-kept. All good, would stay again when passing through.

This is a very clean, but very crowded RV resort. In our section of back-in sites, motorhomes and fifth wheels were crammed together with their tow vehicles like a jigsaw puzzle, and the park was 100% full. Cars get parked next to their motorhomes on the camping side, with the row behind offset by one so that our motorhome backed up to our neighbor's car behind us, and their motorhome was backed in almost to our car. Thus, sites overlap, there is little or no "camping space" available, and parts of motorhomes or trailers are literally right next to the motorhome in the row behind. I've never seen overlapping sites like this before. There were other parts of the resort that had more expensive sites with better spacing. Decorative shrubs along the side of our site made it difficult to get into our wet bay to hook up our water and sewer. On the bright side, our site was very level. After we checked in we were told to wait for an escort to our site. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes (no exaggeration) for an escort to take us the 200 yards to our site. After the first 15 minutes of waiting I asked the desk if I could just drive there myself but they said due to liability reasons we have to wait for an escort. We saw several of the WiFi access points with strong signal but were never able to connect to any of them. Our Verizon and AT&T worked well. There is a decent-sized fenced dog park, and a dirt road leading out of the campground to a Forest Service road which was great for longer walks. Despite the proximity to the interstate, highway noise was not a major problem, which was nice. We were able to receive a UPS delivery at the resort, which was another plus. Electric worked very well, but water pressure was low. We filled our tank (slowly) and used our RV's water pump instead. We might stay here for a night or two in the future when we need full hookups, but might look for someplace a little less cramped instead.

When you arrive you pull into one of several lanes they have for RV's that are checking in. It's nice to see some order to that process which can sometimes be a bit messy and or the spaces available for it are not nearly big enough.
We checked in and were escorted to our site but two guys who worked there. Everyone who worked there was very polite. They helped me back in which was a much bigger deal than need be because the spaces are made without an inch to spare on either side if you expect to get your slides out. We finally got in there, got leveled and put out the slides. That was when one of our cables snapped. But that's another story.
Once I disconnected the truck and parked it next to Firefly on the pad there was no other space available. There was a picnic table behind us on a 45 degree slope but we couldn't tell if it was ours or the people behind us. Nobody could have used it at any rate.
The whole park is very nicely landscaped and kept up very well by the staff there. Unfortunately the tiny spaces make it seem very claustrophobic. If you want to sit outside you had to either sit under the pin area on a 5th wheel or just about in the road.
Like many RV parks it is built right on a highway which provides pretty much constant noise. Not enough to keep us awake though. And of course the WiFi is unusable unless you are down at the club house. But again this is true of most RV Park WiFi. If you are thinking as we usually do that you will just use your own Jetpack for internet access you can forget that too. We went back and forth between no bars and one bar of Verizon 4G. I imagine if you had a cell booster antenna you might be able to get by but we don't have one. There is also a very nice swimming pool that we took advantage of several times while we were there. It's always very clean and vacuumed. Next to the pool is a hot tub. Best of both worlds. There is no shade so I imagine it can get pretty hot poolside if the weather is very warm.
All in all it's a very pretty and well kept park. I would probably give it 3.5 stars because of the small spaces and poor WiFi. Fine for a night or two but difficult for longer stays

In our opinion only close if you have to park a vehicle on the extra cement slab next to your RV. Beautifully maintained for sure. Lots are very level and there is someone to help you back into your site if you need it. Not very many pull through. Nice pool/jacuzzi area. Dog park is larger and very clean. Laundry is large with front load. WiFi is ok most of the time. There is a free shuttle to casino across highway with great buffet.

This park is very clean and the staff were friendly upon check-in. They offer a shuttle service to the casino and give you $10 to gamble with - nothing that we used but a nice perk if you are interested.
The spaces are very small and the RVs are packed in here. But they do an amazing job helping you back into the site. They were pros about it - they made it very easy for us.
Pool is small but heated and there is a hot tub. The exercise room is tiny, but has enough that you can get a workout done if you need.
WiFI was adequate - sometimes it worked great and other times we could not get anything done. It probably depended on time of day.
Verizon service was spotty. I tried to make a few phone calls and it would drop after a bit. Our mifi did not do so well here - we used the park WiFi more.
Great location if you want to be near Sedona but can’t get into the Sedona RV park.
Can hear the traffic from I-17,but it dies down late at night so it does not keep you awake.
