“hunt for moonstones!”
A local favorite, Leffingwell Landing is part of Hearst San Simeon State Park and offers the perfect peaceful spot to enjoy a light lunch, read a book or have a picnic with friends and family. The park has a day-use area just north of Moonstone Beach in Cambria with a picnic area that includes tables, barbecue stands, water spigots and restrooms and the scenery is breathtaking. With stunning views and easy parking, it’s no wonder this local favorite is also a favorite among travelers. A small beach runs next to it, where the sand isn’t your average white sand at all. Instead it’s a gathering of tiny dark pebbles, known as moonstone. And because its sheltered from the highway and busy city life, Leffingwell Landing is also a great place to have a casual, intimate outdoor wedding. Looking for a quick, moderate hike? Leffingwell Landing is just north of a trail and near plenty of lodging and restaurants.
