“nearly 1.7 million acres of land”

The spectacular Klamath River is both the second largest and second longest river in California. The river makes its way through over 200 miles both the Cascade and Coast Mountain Ranges offering many recreation opportunities to its visitors. Summer months bring rafters to the area and jet boat rides are offered out of the town of Klamath. The river is renowned for its fishing opportunities of Chinook (King Salmon), coho (Silver Salmon), and steelhead. The river is easily accessible off of Highway 96. Several ramps exist to provide easy launching for your boat.

As we were touring the North and North West of California we decided to make a stop at Marble Mountain Ranch in Klamath National Forest for three days in late August.

Oh my God! You cannot believe the beauty of the natural scenery. Having explored the greatest part of North California, i have to admit that this probably is one of the top alongside the Redwoods National Park on the North Coast. Nearly 1.7 million acres of pure nature and forests awaits you to explore them either by hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 or rafting. We did all these and we had some really amazing moments that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

As were were rafting the Klamath River, my wife grapped the opportunity to make some really amazing photos of a majestic bald eagle hunting fish!!! I can barely recall a place that managed to leave us speechless so many times as the Klamath National Forest did!!!

Nature lovers ....this is THE PLACE...and if you are driving on the 96 and you are close to the area you must definitely make a stop!!!!
