Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on March 15, 2019With a 1-day $5 or season $25 pass, you can stay at most CA SnoParks in an RV or camper (no tents or outside camping - see the website for info). We enjoyed our night at the Hope Valley SnoPark on the way to visit family near Bishop. Hope Valley is about the 1/2 way point from the Bay Area via Hwy 50 in the winter.
We were the only campers; I enjoyed the clean restrooms and even walking there through the sparkling night. We had a bit of snow as the temperature dropped below 10 degrees. Glad to be warm inside our camper, cooking up a simple and hearty soup dinner. Next morning we opted to enjoy breakfast at Sorensons resort near by before continuing on our way.

The lot for overnight parking (in-vehicle camping) is to the left just after the entrance. Easy in, easy out. Close to South Lake Tahoe but off the beaten path of Hwy 50 which is nice. However, the trade-off is no cell signal so come prepared.

As described by other reviews but now great Verizon cell signal. 4 bars LTE. Clean pit toilet and lots of parking. Someone setup a tent in the trees along the parking lot.

Came here after employee at Gardnerville Walmart told me I couldn’t stay the night. And I’m glad she did. There were a few other campers and a van here when I arrived at dusk. There are pit toilets that were tolerable. There are no services here and no designated sites. Although Highway 88 is near, the evening was quiet and peaceful (unlike a Walmart). In the morning there was a beautiful fog over the lake at the sno-park. Carson Pass is not far and there is dispersed camping within a mile here in Hope Valley but tends to be crowded in the summer. I would definitely stay overnight here again. I had no cell coverage anywhere for miles with AT&T.

We spent a week in North Lake Tahoe and then headed south of Carson City before heading to Carmel, CA. We found the Sno-Park here on Campendium and it’s great. Shared the big lot with a couple of folks but plenty of room for all. We walked along the river while the dog had the time of his life.
Vault toilets. We didn’t need them. No water so bring what you need. Sorenson’s Is a nice cafe down the road. Also, gas up before heading into the mountains.

We usually stay down the road at the dispersed camping area but it was very busy on the Sunday of Memorial weekend, so we stopped here for the night (arrived ~2 pm). Only 3 other small campers here (all had stayed the night before) but 2 left after we arrived. Fairly level large enough paved parking lot that a class A towing came in to give their dog some exercise and left. We love Hope Valley and the views here are amazing as is the walk to/along the river! Very peaceful overnight (could hear some traffic on hwy 88 during the day but hardly any traffic at night). Vaulted toilets on site were open but no trash recepticle so pack out (we picked up trash around the toilets to take with us).

Easy access off 88 not far from 89. Paved, very quiet, plenty of level paved parking with restrooms, great Verizon and views. 14 days posted stay limit. No dump or utilities.
