“beautiful mile long beach”
On Carmel Bay, the mile-long beach features a bird sanctuary in a lagoon (just before the Carmel River empties into the sea) featuring a wide variety of waterfowl and song birds. Monastery Beach, also known as San Jose Creek Beach, is part of the park and is popular with scuba divers. Swimming, wading or walking near the ocean can be extremely dangerous at this beach.
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Come in the spring for the best weather and pick up a great lunch for the beach @ Bruno's Market, it's been in town 30+ years great sandwiches and other "beach" food.
Such a beautiful beach! Aqua colored water (late Feb) and many sea otters not far from the beach. Very picturesque.
Excellent beach. Check out the nearby Point Lobos as well.
The blue-teal water at this beach is absolutely surreal! Ideal for picnics or just lounging around. We came on a Saturday and the parking was free! There were some people but not too many. The sand is much more pebbly than other beaches so it hurts to walk around barefoot after awhile, I would recommend keeping your shoes on.
Great place to have a walk with your dog. Enjoy the spectacular views and the warm air coming from the waves of the sea. Also, enjoy the soothing and relaxing feeling while watching the calming view of the blue waters.
