Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 07, 2023Nothing fancy here – just another solid Army Corps of Engineers campground. Everything was clean and well kept, and we were able to get a pull through site that was so level we didn't need to unhitch. The price reflects the Senior Pass rate. No service for AT&T or Verizon.

This was our last overnight stay on our way home from Arkansas in October 2017. Campground was okay. All sites are full hookup only and $30 night. If you need Verizon cell service this is not the place for you. Barely 1 bar of service. If you walk down by the boat launch you can sometimes pick up 2 bars with 1g coverage in and out. But, if you are looking to unplug this is the place to do it. Restrooms and showers were clean. I would probably not return again as this was my most expensive stay in 14 days on the road. There was also a lot of traffic in and out at night. The doberman also got attacked by another dog that broke it's tie on our first walk and he still has the scar to prove it.

We needed a quick overnight spot and Riffle Run definately fit the bill. No reservations but the campground was ~10% occupied when we arrived. The site was level and long enough for a 39’ 5th wheel and our truck. Very quite and very clean. The camp host was very friendly and provided lots of info. We took a short walk to the dock and wished we had more time to spend some time on Burnsville Lake. We didn’t have any TV or cell service...and that was fine.

First, the address on google is completely WRONG!!!Riffle Run Campground is NOT on Rifle Run Rd. Taking this route will take you 16 miles out to a holler to a dead end gravel road. Pretty sure we heard the banjos playing! 2550 S Main St, Burnsville is correct addr
Not much privacy between sites, but they are spaced apart so you feel like you're not stacked on top of each other. Fortunately on Sunday night the campground was only about 20% occupied, but another person told us it is packed on the weekends.
Sites 1-54 are FHU, sites 55-60 are primitive.
Check-in office was closed when we arrived on a Sunday night. There is a CG Host and several CG volunteers in the park.
Self check-in, so pick a site then go back and self-pay with the provided envelope at the entrance. CASH ONLY. $40 (or $20 with interagency pass).
No Verizon cell service, no air antenna channels.
Nice little Corp of Engineers campground close to Burnside Lake. Shower house was nothing fancy but it was clean and functional.
There is also a nice laundry room with a detergent dispenser if you need laundry soap.

The above rate reflects the 50% Senior Pass discount.
Fairly typical Corps of Engineers campground, with the exception that most every site is full hook-up. Thankfully, the rate is a reasonable $20 with the senior pass; $40/night seems kind of steep considering there are little to no amenities here (as one may find in an RV Park for about the same rate). Sites 55-60 are primitive. If the weather is good enough, that is clearly the place to camp here - huge secluded sites and totally segregated from sites #1 thru #54..
An easy ride from the Interstate to here. Interior road is plenty large enough for any sized rig. All sites can pretty much handle the largest of rigs as well. Sites are well-packed gravel with an ample sitting area with fire pit. Decent enough and clean bath house with ample showers. No connectivity here whatsoever on Verizon, although it was possible to pick up a whiff of a signal down by the parking lot near and at the marina.
All in all, the senior pass makes this a good value. Not so sure about that at the full rate.

This is a great campground for a night or two. People are all very nice. Lots of seniors where we were sitting, next to the shower house.
Shower was ok, with plenty of hot water, however all the shower heads need updated! And why don’t they ever brush down the spider webs overhead?
We had electrical hook up and water, but we didn’t use water.
Have your Senior Pass ready for 1/2 price.
Absolutely no WiFi or phone service. Maybe by the office you can make a phone call, I heard.
