Big Rooster Made of Car Bumpers

A shiny roadside rooster that marked the site of sculptor Larry Godwin's Art Wurks Studio . For decades, the 15-foot-tall rooster made of car bumpers stood by the road, providing a hard-to-resist photo opp. 2017 Update : Larry Godwin, who is 82 years old, has been in a nursing home for the past year. Since then, the Art Wurks Studio closed and Ronald (Larry's brother) removed the rooster from the roadside, but only temporarily. Apparently Its legs used to move and the head moved slowly back and forth, Ronald plans to repair its mechanism. In the meantime, Ronald has the rooster in his studio space at 522 North Main St., in Brundidge. This is his private residence He said visitors to his studio can see the rooster, as well as numerous sculptures he created himself and erected in the adjoining sculpture garden.
