“A rock castle built by artists”
A unique rock structure made entirely of local semi-precious rocks and crystals. This museum houses art and personal artifacts from one of Oregon's pioneer families. The Living Rock Studios is more than a castle made of stone and cement. It is a work of art, a wonderland of rock, art and history. Within it’s solid walls, visitors see things they could never have imagined. A hollow tree over two stories high made of petrified wood and lined with sparkling crystals. Beautiful, one–of–a–kind woodcarvings. Pictures made of thin translucent pieces of rock collected and arranged in such a way that when lit from behind, the pictures become glowing illustrations. Original life–size oil paintings of various species of bird and a large assortment of rocks.
If you're a rock hound this is a must. If you just happen to be driving through then stop for a tour, definitely don't make a special trip. Read more
